Stay away from Walmart, 2 year life and a corrosive mess! Terminals are made from cheap recycled porous lead.

Interstate was the replacement, so far very good.

Couldn't be further from the truth. Made by Johson Controls. As mentioned above, the largest battery supplier in N/A.

You should have brought it back for a free replacement. The Walmart Everstart Plus has a 2 year free replacement , their Everstart Maxx 3 year free replacement.

Congrats, your Interstate battery is also made by Johnson Controls.

Default RX Battery

My Rx has the original Battery from 2005 and still working. It's been 10 years and still going strong, however I recently bought the Costco (Interstate) Battery and waiting for my old battery to crank slower before replacing it. Any tips on replacing the battery? Do I have to keep a battery charger connected to the lighter to keep the power going or is that not necessary? Will the clock and other settings be effected but just disconnecting the battery for a few minutes?

When the RX battery died, the dealer came out to the house and replaced it under warranty. Only took less than 15 minutes to replace with new battery. All the memory settings and clock remained intact which really surprised me. The Lexus replacement battery carries a 7 year/84-month full replacement warranty. So far so good.

In desperation I bought a battery at Walmart on a Sunday and it only had a 2 year warranty. Worse was it failed and left my wife and her GF stranded while out of town on a gambling trip. Sparing the details and headaches she finally made it home. I was shocked to find what looked like a big snowball of corrosion on her battery positive terminal. Everything was so corroded it was difficult to remove and took a couple of hours to clean everything up to the point it could be used again.

Corrosion was what caused too much resistance between the + terminal and the cable that finally resulted in the battery not being able to get fully charged and not being able to start the car. I know who manufacturers these, thank you! Being an Interstate dealer, I bought one from them and was told by my rep that porosity in the recycled lead was what caused my problem, not a leak between the terminal and case as I had suspected.

I was also told that the same manufacturer builds different levels of quality to match various pricing tiers. I know Walmart likes beat up suppliers for better pricing, I also know Costco likes to give their members the best quality they can offer. Similar product from the same manufacturer, is the quality the same? I doubt it.
