Default 2008 Rx350 with 80K miles

Hi all

I am planning to buy a 2008 RX350, with 80K miles-

The price quoted is 16K.

is this a good buy?

What are the things I should look for?

can I expect any expensive repairs on this model, at this mileage.

I would appreciate any pointers in this regard.

I'd take it to a Lexus dealer for a Pre Purchase Inspection (PPI). Issues we've had with our 2007 (89k miles): steering rack leak, engine oil leak, ignition lock replacement, TPMS sensor replacement. Other things to check that come to mind: worn wheel bearings & leaking shocks.

Is it at a dealership? For reference, just two weeks ago I bought an '08 RX350 with 106K for $14.9K in the DC/NVA area.

AWD, NAV/camera, sweet 18's, brand new Michelin MXV4 tires, new brakes, new battery, immaculately clean inside and out, oil line recalls done, yummy Bamboo Pearl paint, one owner, bought, serviced, and traded at same dealer (all maint records, clean carfax), blah, blah, blah...

Although the mileage on the car was (is) a little higher than I had been looking for, it's overall condition and pedigree made it easier to accept.

Of course YMMV...

Based on my recent search, IMO an 08 with 80K for $16K is reasonable as long as it is zestfully clean and documented.

Yeah, as long as it checks out mechanically, that is a very good price.
