Black?
I just ordered my ne Rx330 (unseen, untested....). The dealer said that he had a black avail for Apr 3, there are limited numbers avail to the dealership at the present time. Or, I'd have to wait another month for the silver.
I've always owned black cars but thought I'd be practical this time around and get silver. I'd also noticed that the Lexus black is somewhat "flat". Usually black cars look great but I've noted some black RX300 on the road and they do not look sharp.
Any comments from you guys that have black lexuses?
I'm leaning towards getting the black if it means that I'll get it earlier.

I have a 99 RX, black onyx. While in Mexico I ended up having the lower panels all painted black to match. The panels look much sharper right now. I recently repainted the front end sides (metal part). Both times used DuPont. Looks much sharper after using several 3M products to get the high shine.
However, yes, it was dull and flat before. Also, my Lexus never came with the clearcoat protection. This is no wonder since Toyota will not sell black vehicles here in Mexico (bad air and other harmful contaminants).
One good thing about black, from what most people tell me, they have the highest resale value assuming everything else equal.
As far as getting a new RX330, go ahead, but not my cup of tea right now. I will wait for the hybrid.

I have always had black vehicles and my RX is no exception. They are harder to keep clean than some of the lighter colours. But when they are clean, NOTHING LOOKS BETTER! IMO

Once you go black, you never go back (in car colors, that is). I have had black vehicles for many years and prefer that look. I also think black is more masculine (esp for the RX). My question is what color leather to get. My dealer has a new demo 330RX that I look at last night. The leather was light grey and very attractive. However, I am afraid it will show the dirt and marks too easy. I presume that the RX will come in black leather also. Any comments?

You are right about the grey leather. I have a rich Mexican friend who imported a 98 GS and it is ragged-looking, shame. I have the tan in mine, and it has held up really well for a 99. Is that an option on the new RX330?
Personally, I am going to wait for the hybrid RX to bring down to Mexico, gas is not only expensive (not an issue for me really) but horrendous quality.
