I registered on here and on MyLexus.com. My dash has 1 hairline crack just outside of the A/C vent that is bigger than a centimeter but smaller than an inch. There is another questionable spot just above the left hand side of the glove box, just to the right of the console that looks as tho it may have had some work done, some sort of masking or covering that is not the same texture as the rest of the dash. Not sure if this spot is indicative of the dash problem itself or if it is a cover up of the problem. It doesn't look too bad, tho! I am the "third" owner of this car. (Original owner gave car to his daughter) I am wondering if anyone thinks I should bother trying to get on a list real quick before it's no longer an option?? I read somewhere that I may have until 2017? Do you all think that being the 3rd owner I would have any hope? Has anyone had any luck that wasn't the original owner? I did check the vin # on MyLexus, and it said it was NOT included. No service records indicate that it has been replaced previously. My damage is truly minimal enough that I wouldn't worry much, but I DO live in AZ...so I would hate to miss the boat if I could've gotten it taken care of! Any thoughts are appreciated, and hope everyone has a wonderful day!

You should take it to your local Lexus dealership and start the process. Its free not sure why would you hold back?
This is good regardless of how many owners and miles........

Thank you for the reply! That is pretty much what I was thinking, too. My dealership is not close but it would be worth the trip if I could get it done. Mostly was just thinking it wouldnt apply to me since I never held the warranty. Good to know!!

How Lexus discerns which gets replaced and which does not is beyond me and the corporate office could not give me an answer
Compared to many photos I've seen on this site my dash was in great condition. But it was replaced at no charge.

Mine just developed a tiny spot of this problem. Will they still honor this on an 04?

Short story made long. Reported to the Dealer Jan 2016. Called every couple of months to check on status. Got the same story that the part is on backorder, they will call me. Called Monday and got the same story with the addition that they haven't seen a dash come in since last October. I told them that on the Club Lex forum they seem to be replaced on a regular basis. "Let me check some things" he says and puts me on hold for 4 minutes. He comes back on and says that the part will be here tomorrow, can we make an appointment. It's due to be replaced on Thursday. Miracle of miracles and what a coincidence.
I wonder how much they are going to try to charge me for this recall item..

Just wanted to ask how is everyone needing their dash replaced? Any luck ? I just got the dash replaced on my 06 IS350 a few weeks ago. We sold our 08 RX350 but it did not needed the dash replaced as it still looked great from OEM. Any luck anyone?

Default Went to Santa Monica Lexus today...

Brought my 04 RX330 in. VIN checked out. They do a cursory I spection. I had minimal chopping but was approved. They say 6-9 months but I'm in queue. Painless and easy. Glad they are doing this. More preventative since no visual damage. I am concerned that things may not be put together back tightly but that remains to be seen. FYI my letter said "may 31,2017" the recall expires. Double check your letter and get in line!

Back around May 20th, just before the extended warranty on my 07 was to expire, I went to the dealer and asked about it. The dash had just one little nick that I figured was from putting stuff up on the dash. The assistant service manager said that he would order one for me. It took about a month to get and I had it installed this week. 5 weeks from order to install.

I don't understand why one place gets the dash in a month and others are 6 - 9 months.

Talking Dash replacements 0n 2006.

Finally after almost 24 months of waiting Lexus called me for the dash replacement. I had given up on them the night before they called. They provided a loaner. They had the car for almost three days. Fine by me.
I was 23 on a list of 400 in the Miami Area. Looks good and new. For those on the list have some patience. I did call the Lexus dealer from time to time to inquire about the process.

Yes. I just had my 04 dash replaced 3 weeks ago. Dealer gave me an almost new RX350 to drive as a loaner. I was on the list over a year. Get yourself on the list and keep checking periodically like others have suggested.

A friend of mine that just got a used IS 350 called about his dash and they said the extended warranty period is over. They just kept reading from a script every time he asked a question.

I never got a letter but when called was told I qualify. However they declined as I called after May. Anyone get anywhere with this? I'm considering suing them.
