What could the cause of the rear wiper on an '06 RX330 not gripping well to the window be? Could it need a new spring, or could the entire assembly need to be changed? Any suggestions on what troubleshooting can be done in this situation?

You can't buy just the spring. But an entirely new wiper arm is only $40.00.

Replacing the arm should fix the problem you are having.
