RX350 Headlight Poor Output
#16
If you have AFS your lights will go down, side to side, and back up when you start the car. You will also have a button that says "AFS OFF" right next to the gas open button. I wouldn't get aftermarket headlights. They tend to be low quality and it would be cheaper to have your headlights professional restored. When they restore them they actually paint them with a clear coat and they will look brand new. It also last many many times longer than simply polishing them. Also, If you do have AFS, the ones off Ebay will not be compatible and you will lose your AFS functionality and there will be a warning light on the dash.

Raddy, which Osram bulbs are you referencing? I have the Osram Xenarc 66240 Cool Blue Intense (CBI) bulbs installed on mine. I don't really have any really good pictures, but I can try taking some tonight if you like. I do have one pic on this thread.

David, are you sure we are talking about the bulbs here? I have the 66240 CBIs, not the regular 66240.
CBI:

Regular 66240:

Regardless, I will still post output pics later tonight.
I have had them for about 1.5 years now. I love them. I love having the 5000K color with just as much light output. I still think they are one of the best bulbs you can get. The only downside is that they aren't so great when it is raining and roads are wet, but then again all of the bulbs I've used have that problem.

Amazeballs, thanks for the new word.
@David,
Yes the CBIs can be a little too blue for some people. I personally like them, but I understand that everyone's tastes are a little different. Personally, I think overall a 4300K may actually do slightly better overall, because they are a bit better in the rain, and you "see" more light on dark, freshly paved roads. However, with the CBIs, you get an awesome contrast. White lines on the road really pop. The contrast is great on older less dark asphalt roads and on concrete roads. But really I think it just comes back to what you like and the kinds of roads and conditions that you drive your vehicle in. As promised, here are some output shots I took just now. For more info on bulbs and comparison shots, check out hidplanet.com.
I also found these two videos really helpful when I was making my decision to buy new bulbs.
See attached for my output shots. One of them is with lights off so you get a better sense of what light is from my headlights. I'm pretty sure that both of the headlights are aimed a little too far inwards (especially the left side), but I just haven't gotten around to messing with it yet. Just keep that in mind when you look at the pictures. Also these were taken from my phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 2), so they aren't really that great pictures. BTW I have a 2004 RX330 with auto leveling, but no AFS. Good luck!

Hey...One last thing about the Phillips Xtreme Vision...I chose them because I like the slightly more blue look when looking at the car but there is no compromise as far as light output. OEM HIDs are 4300k (tinge of yellow), Phillips Xtreme are 4800K (pure white), and CBIs are 6000k (a bit blue)...It was a nice middle between the two things I wanted. I have had them for a couple months now and they are the brightest lights I have had in any car and they do great in bad weather as well. When you pull up to another car with HIDs they look a little whiter and bluer than the OEM HIDs yet they don't look like they are aftermarket.
Just my 2 cents.

David,
No I do not have a picture from outside the car. I was going to take a picture like that the night I took the others, but it starting raining, and it's raining every night since then. When the weather dries up, I will take a picture of it.
