90k service: would you change the water pump?
#16
Change it, you have already paid for the labor to get there, Guessing cost of $200ish (If being done by independent ) or whatever it is... Cheap insurance against a tow bill. Will it last to 200,000 miles, maybe, maybe not....
Old STP commercial quote, You can pay me now or you can pay me later.
Adding to the quote, it usually cost more for the privilege to pay later

For me, yes, I probably would, it isn't much more (I do it myself), so I would just toss in it. I have it off anyway. My friend who works at Lexus said he wouldn't, for him it is so easy to do himself there, he isn't worried about it. They honestly don't fail hardly ever, it isn't like an old Impala that needs it every 50k or so.
On the tensioner, he said they NEVER change them, since he started at Lexus in 1989, they have never had a single failure at his dealership (big city). Cheap insurance, yes, likelyhood of failure is very very low.

I just had my belt replaced. My mechanic, who works on a lot of these cars, suggested not to replace the pump, or the pulley, as they looked great. He said that in his experience, if they are in that good of shape at 90K, they will make it another 90K.
