Default Radio/CD sound not working

Hi,

My wife's 2006 RX350 has radio problems. About 6 months ago all the sounds stopped from the Radio/CD player and all the CD's got stuck in the player. There appears to be power getting to the radio unit. also, the top part (GPS etc with voice) works fine. I have pulled out the unit to remove the CDs and looked for any obvious issues but found nothing. CDs are now out except for 1 I couldn't extract.

I can't tell if it's the radio unit or the power amp which is not working. Where is the Power Amp fuse located ? and where is the actual amp so I can check if its getting any voltage ?

I was going to pull the radio unit out again and try to send a sound signal through the speaker wires to see if its the unit or not but then the unit might need to be installed to power up the amp, I 'm not sure. These things are so expensive to replace I just don't want to replace it if it's a simple issue.

Any suggestions ?

thanks
Dave

Hi Dave.

The amp is under the rear seat, I understand that it's a little tough to get to. PM me if you want a replacement stereo; I'll give you a really good deal on it. I took mine out and it works just fine, so I don't really need it.

Thanks, I'll check it out. Do you know where the fuse is for the amp ?
