Default RX330 Aftermarket Radio TYTO-01

I have a 2004 RX330 with standard premium sound which is made by Pioneer.
Has anyone tried to put in an aftermarket radio and get the fade to work?
I have used the Metra Axxess TYTO-01 kit and fade does not work. Metra told me there must be something wrong with my car (even though fade works on my stock radio).
Everything else works OK.

Who wired your harness?

From some of the posts I read before you need the adbox-1 to keep your fading capabilities. I just finally got all my stuff in, looking to do this install in the next week or so, maybe start on Tuesday morning.

From my experience, the TYTO-01 plugs into the ADBOX via pin connectors, so I took it as implication that the OP had installed the ADBOX. KirLexus, is this the case?

I just found out, you don't use the adbox1 with the tyto-01, you use it with the ax-adtyo -01 ( which is just the harnesses). And that the tyto-01 does the same as the adbox1 and is suppose to keep your fade.

Default Tyto-01

I believe that the TYTO-01 is just a kit that contains an ADBOX1 and the Toyota wiring harness.

They are both supposed to keep fade, but didn't do so on my car.
I contacted Metra and they said they couldn't fix it without seeing my car.

I have heard other reports of it not working on RX330s. The tech line at Best Buy says no one has gotten it to work on an RX330.

Sigh... Best Buy is generally worthless. I don't think the TYTO includes the ADBOX1 as the ADBOX is more expensive. Everything I have read says the ADBOX is what you NEED to keep your fader working with the HU.
