When will the new Navigation Update be issued?

When installing the Rev 14 update, do not follow the directions on these forums posted in 2010. Instead follow the directions from Sewell Lexus. It is much faster and correct. The forum instructions add a bunch of unnecessary steps. While they both result in correct installation of the new dvd, but the Sewell pdf uses the correct access door found in the tool box while the forum method requires removal of the tool box that is not needed. If you follow the instructions for the RX330 regardless if you have a 330 or 350 second generation you should be good.

The Sewell instructions don't mention the RX400h, just the 330, 300 & 350. The 400h is new to me but has the V5.1 disk in it so I'd like to upgrade! I'm sure I can find it but does anyone know which it is more like, the 330/300 or the 350's setup?

Try the 330 directions. You bring up a good point. The Second gen RX350 does NOT follow the RX350 directions in the Sewell instructions. It follows the 330 directions perfectly. IMHO they should have labeled it "second generation RX" instead of 330. Try those directions, they're very easy, see if you have that little door in your tool box on the right hand side. My RX350 did.

400 follows the 2nd gen rx instructions to install. Just pop open the cover in the area where the jack is. With ignition on, press the button and the old disk will come out. If your 400 is 2006 it is a 4th gen nav. If 07 or 08 it is a 5th gen nav. Just make sure to get the right disk.

I do have the 4th gen update in my cart at Sewell, waiting for payday.
I also saw that one of the low-beams went out & locally, the only D2S's I find are $92 each. Ouch. But with my wife on the highway this weekend with it, I'd rather not wait for the cheap E-bay ones to show up next week! That update may need to wait another week or two...

Just to be clear, if they don't release a Gen 3 update disk, it only affects the 2004 330. 2005-6 330s use Gen 4 which looks to be available.
And this may not be an issue. I have used a gen 5 disk in my gen 4. If I disconnected my battery I needed to put the gen 4 disk in to get it to boot the first time. But then I could put the gen 5 right back in. There are also ways to make hybrid disks that use the older disk with data files from the newer ones.

They stop making updates for older generations all the time, so it's not really unusual that they dropped the gen2/3, but it does suck. I've also heard that the gen2/3 couldn't handle the new update as well, but I'm not sure what that actually means or if it's entirely true.
which do you need? or what vehicle do you have? I can hold one for you when they do come in. I don't know why they've been so slow this year.

New GPS disc
It took about 3 minutes to install the new disc, had an error message " door did not close, pls redo", so I did it and everything was fine. I guess the door was sticky after not operating in 7 years!
Sewell did a good job also!

Anyone know if anything else, other than the maps, gets updated? I've not updated the maps for 3 years now; wife uses Google maps on her phone mounted in a holder on the dash, so the maps aren't really that important to me. But if there is some other system upgrade included, might be worth it to me.

Just a big thanks to "roadbike" esp. and the rest of you for putting me on to Sewell's good deal on the nav disk. Just installed it using the "330" instructions and worked very well. As a note, I'm sure everyone else knows this (but I didn't):
when you slide that lever over to "open" the slot and the disk slides out, it does not go back to the closed position automatically AFTER you put in the new disk. It has to be manually slid closed after the disk is put in. Otherwise, you get what one poster said above, "door open," or some such.
Thanks again, Club Lexus members!
