Thinking about a 2008 RX400h
We're thinking of purchasing a 2008 RX400h with 50k on it. Are there any common issue with this year and model? And feedbacks / owner experiences? Thanks CL
On a different note my mom has a 2004 RX330 with 50k on it. Its been pretty good to her. Only issues are a few hair line cracks on the dash and something went wrong with the wire harness around the alternator.

I don't own this model but I have the RX350. Wonderful ride. Having said that this is worth looking into before buying and look up service records. But seeing your post count you probably know this already

Flawless, by far my best car purchase ever (and I bought plenty of others).
I'm just a bit surprised by your pic, because normally the 2nd gen RX appeals to people with discerning taste, while the previous owner of this one seems to be an exception, judging from that thing he/she sticked in front of it!
But other than that, it looks great, and barely burn in at 50k!

Thanks for all the replies everyone.
The CUV is for my father in law. He's just spending way too much on gas on his Sequoia. If we get it he may just keep that thingy in the front. He isn't a very careful driver and bumps into other cars, parking polls, signs, and ect a lot lol.

Pole Position
He will enjoy the fuel economy. I too have a 2008 with 150k miles. I have had one wheel bearing and the inverter cooling pump fail, but that is it. Great auto.

I have the same thoughts on buying 2008 400H! About 6 months ago my wife and I purchased 4WD 2004 RX330, and I can say for sure it is an unbelievable car. We've been looking for couple months constantly before we found one in exceptional condition and bought it. Since owning a car we had several small issues such as side mirrors motors got stuck, a/c servo motors died, dashboard cracks start appearing and one major one - timing belt got destroyed (even it was done by lexus dealer less then 10k miles ago), but lucky there was no damage to the engine and car was back on the road within one day. Besides that it was no other issues and car drives amazingly. Well, it was the first year of production and still it one of the best cars I ever driven, so now I'm looking for hybrid version with every single option on black interior.

I see you're in LA so you'll be OK as long as you don't go in the mountains. My advice- don't try to drive it in the snow. The 2008 does not have a button to disable the computer. The computer shuts off power to the wheels in the snow.

I disagree with tjw914. My RX400h is AWD and does just fine in the snow. I will say there are better AWD systems, but the RX gets through snow where other cars were getting stuck. And that was without chains.

Besides, I don't think in any of the 400h, regardless of the MY, it was possible to "disable the computer", whatever that means...

Nice suv
I love my 400h. Same year as yours. Mark levinson too. You'll love how it runs. It's so quiet when I pull up to a parking that no one hears me coming up.
(1)The only issue would be to make sure timing belt is new,
(2)water pump if it leaks you need to replace or it'll mess up the hybrid engine. I just had these services done yesterday.
(3)Oh and there's a recall warranty on the head lamps if you have condensation in the headlamps lexus will replace for free.
(4) there was a recall for the ipm too. Make sure that has been replaced.
you can log in owner's lexus online to find out what has been recorded that's done to your vehicle so your on the same page.
Hope you'll like it
