Any one have a ruler handy?
If anyone is near their vehicle and has a ruler handy, I need the following info.
What is the distance between the two front seat, and what is the distance between the two from seats allowing for the arm rests.
Want to see if a 9" TV/DVD combo would fit between snugly on top of the console. ALthough I would love to have one built into the roof or the headrests, I think that when my lease expires in 2005, the RX330 and the new hybrids will be too tempting to want to buy out the RX300. I dont think its worth the investment of building one in when I can get a 9" toshiba dvd combo for $250.00 and take it with me into the next one.

I did pick up the portable last nite. Its a Toshiba 9 inch with dvd.
Was $299 at Best Buy, plus a $50 rebate if bought by 2/28.
$249 aint bad considering just 2 years ago a 9 inch with vcr was over $400.
I didnt have time to see if it fit yet, but by looking at it, I think it will. Either way. The deal was too good to pass up. Has both AC and DC operation so it makes a great kitchen TV when not in the RX.
It is a stereo TV with front AV jacks for a game system. has a remote control and it has one headphone jack but I also picked up a 3 way headphone power booster at radio shack for $16 so 3 separate headphones can plug into it.

lol sounds like you had my problem, leased vehicle = cant do nothing to it.
well u already bought the tv, but u could of done what i did, buy the after market center console by clarion. (crutchfield sells it) and put the tv in there. its real cheap but then u would have to buy the tv, dvd etc.
so lets see some pics of it. hey you could always go all out on ur leased truck like i did. http://www.sounddomain.com/member_pa...&tree=Lexus%20(all%20models)

Your handywork looks amazing, a bit to extreme for me however :-). And definitely way beyond my technical knowhow.
I do know that I can plug the cig lighter adapter in and get a pic on the TV/DVD though. Actually I have tossed around the idea of the visuallogic sytem in the headrests though. Just cant justify it on a lease. The dash and dropdown screen would have been too much for me.
My concern is keeping my 10 year old twins entertained on those long trips.

oh yea i totaly know what you mean. actually the center console i was mentioning above, i dont have any pics of it on that web site. so it totaly defeated the purpose of what i wanted to show you. but anway.
also just an insight.... yea id have to be crazy to rip apart the stock headrest/sunvisors. thats why i found extra ones on ebay. so i have the originaly headrests and visors still in tack for when i return the truck.

It Fit
BARELY.................................it has to sit on top of the arm rests and it does fit very snug between the seats. A decent fit in the way of keeping the lil ones occupied. Definately not a fit worth leaving in permanently.
