Well technically the RX330 stopped getting made from 2006. 2006 onwards there was only the RX350 and the RX400h. The RX400h uses the same engine as the RX330 did just with the electric drive train added. The RX350 had a 3.5 litre V6 engine.

For the second gen RX, the 04-06 is the RX 330, and 07-09 is the RX 350. The RX 400h was made from 06-08 (no 09 model I believe, correct me if I'm wrong). As draco said above, the RX 400h uses a hybrid version of the 3.3 liter 3MZ-FE V6. In 07, they put the 3.5 liter 2GR-FSE in the regular model, but did not put that in the hybrid. The hybrid did get the 2GR-FSE for the 3rd generation RX 450h 2010-present.

No, I don't play soccer!
Yes, it's nice to have a few extra toys on the 3rd gen RX like a USB port (no more cassette deck!), remote touch, and a more cavernous feel. Oh, and bluetooth. I missed out on that by a year. Lexus didn't introduce it until the 2005 MY. Still I loved my 330.

I personally dont like the 3 Generation RX YET... I prefer the Second generation myself. You can replace the factory radio with a aftermarket and get 10 times more stuff than any factory radio will ever give you.

When we were shopping for an RX350 AWD last year, we test both an 08/09 and 10 model. My wife actually prefer the 08/09 softer ride compares to the 10 model. Maybe the 2010 model 19" wheel/tire package has something to do with it? The only downside on the 08/09 model to me is the 5-speed auto compares to 6-speed on the 10. Anyway, we ended up getting an 08 and save at least $6K.

When our 2007 was at Lexus for some recall and drive train warranty work. I was given a 2010 third generation as a loaner for two days. The 2010 seems bigger with a harsher ride. Even the seating was inferior. Maybe I got the lowest end model? I was not happy with the third generation RX. I will keep the 2007 in tip-top condition and I do. The wife would like that as well.

I had a similar experience with a 3gen loaner. There's a long thread on the 3gen forum about the ride. There has to be a way to put softer springs on it. Half the people on CL have resprung their cars just in the other direction. I asked over there once if anyone had done it, no response.
