Coolant Spray
Hi All. A few times over the last couple of years, I've noticed a bit of coolant being sprayed on the battery and the air filter in the engine compartment of my 2008 RX 350. There's not a lot; just some residual white spray patterns. I've not noticed any overheating of the engine. The weather here is never that warm. We're lucky if it hits 72 degrees. The spray is in the area of the radiator cap. Any suggestions as to what may be causing this? Bob

Replace the radiator cap

The other possibility is the "neck" at that location, it is plastic and it can crack as its gets older. Clean it and check for seepage if a new cap doesn't do it. Sienna uses same part no BTW.

Radiator coolant should be RED!
I had a crack on the passenger side of the radiator but the spray that went all over the grill to the battery was red. That’s what Lexus/Toyota uses. If it really is white that might be calcium from windshield wiper fluid if you are using plain tap water. Just my two cents…
