help needed
Hello,
As I was washing my RX today I noticed that I ran over some line paint marks. I have lane paint on the driver's door as well as in the wheel wells. May I get some advice on how to remove the white paint from my door panels.
Thanks in advance,
Chris

it happened to me before, mostly in the wheel well. i think i used goo gone, or perhaps a razor blade and carefully scrapped it off,
as for the wheel well, i just painted over it. that stuff is very difficult to remove.

I've removed roadpaint with Dupont's Prepsol. I wet the area and let it sit for 10 minutes and then sprayed off with the PW. Repeat if some spatter remains. Prepsol softened the road paint and it came off pretty easily. My car was freshly sealed a week prior so this may have assisted the ease of removal. If you don't have Prepsol you might ask a body shop for a couple ounces or you might try WD40.
Roadpaint often contains glass particles to make it reflective at night so don't scrub or you will leave marks. Don't compound the area as loosened glass crystals could leave deep marring.
Be careful with what chemicals you attempt use. Some could damage your paint so test them in an inconspicuous area first. If you resort to using a razor blade, use a plastic one and be careful to keep it flat on the paint.
I noticed my new RX has a material that looks like a tough felt batt in the fender liners. I worry how I'd clean roadpaint off that material. I suppose some sort of dye might cover the paint if it is not to severe. I also wonder if these liners are replaceable and how. Perhaps a rubberized paint or undercoating paint would cover things up.
