I fail to see how the RX 330 becomes more "sporty
and rugged" looking by filling in a 24"x1.5" gap.

YMMV

I wonder if someone in the after market business will address this issue. Maybe some kind of plate to cover it? Or a new bumper? We'll see.

I for one have absolutely no use for one and besides my garage door opening may not be able to accommodate that extra height. My brother's mini-van with a roof rack can't clear my garage door opening and the only way he can get in is to lower the tire pressure on all 4 tires to about 12 pounds of air from the normal 32 psi. The rack is definitely out in my book and I guess we won't buy a new RX330 if the rack is indeed standard (yes, we'll put up with the large grill opening).
How tall is your garage door opening? The RX300 is 65.7" and the RX330 is 66.1". I'm guessing these are both without roof racks. So add 4-5" for a rack and you're now at 71.1". Still less then 6'. Is your opening less than 6'?

I agree though. It should be an option to have the roof racks or not.

Seems ridiculous doesn't it to include a roof rack and charge a higher price instead of offering the rack as an option. I never use the rack either.

John
I also like the open gap. It's more sporty.
