Window Operation Noise
I just got my 2008 RX 400h. Seems like my windows are sticking right at the opening procedure. Its loud and kind of annoying. Right at the very beginning when it breaks the seal on the way down. Is this normal? They seem noisy for Lexus standards.
I added some silicone grease to moon roof track and seemed quite it down a bit. Can I do the same for the windows? Any help wood be appreciated.
Thanks.

clean the glass and use silicone spray on all the rubbers (even the door seals).
careful with grease on the moonroof, the grease holds dirt, and will gum up over time.

+1 In agreement with these recommendations. The rubber can dry out and become hard. You are looking to treat the material. Also, do not use Armor All on these rubber seals/gaskets and trim pieces.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the heads up.
So the procedure is to spray silicone on and into all the rubber cavities around the window.
But not down into the door that would be waste I assume, right? And probably streak up my windows for some time, huh?

Silicone spray need not be messy if done right. You spray into the rag and then apply. It is also a multi-tasker for other purposes on the vehicle such as on door hinges as well as the hood and hatch lift supports. DuPont also makes a liquid edition, with and without silicone, for a variety of uses as well.
