When I was shopping for a used 2007 RX350 here in VA last December I believe I may have seen maybe 1 FWD RX for sale, guess AWD must be a good upsell here in VA.

350s can have an issue with the oil cooler rubber lines failing and pumping out all the enine oil on the road. 300s dont have that issue. They are very similar vehicles. I have an 04 300 that has 115,000 trouble free miles and plans are to take it to 250k.

Just bought a 2007 RX 350 in December with approx 102k on it and just had to replace water pump @ 106k. Seems a bit early to me and it is not a easy to do job. Paid my independent $650 for the job. Not too bad but not what I wanted to spend 6 months after buying it.

So when the water pump on my RX350 goes bad, is that when I have the timing chain replaced? It seems like a very expensive fix, considering the hours required for labor.

My Dodge Carvan is at 208K and my Honda CR-V is at 138K and neither have had any problems with the water pump. I thought I got a Lexus because of the quality and reliability.

The timing chain is a lifetime item. You would not change it when doing the water pump. The water pump on the RX350 is a bear to replace and can be a bit expensive. Some have had problems with theirs, however, they are designed to last if you get a good one.

I had a look at the threads relating to Canadian sourced RX's as opposed to Japanese sourced RX's. but can't find a direct answer. I see you guys get RX's from Canada (also from Japan), whilst the RX350 I have come from Japan, does it mean I will be less (or more) in line for water pump replacement?
