Default 2009 Lexus Rx 350 70k. Too many miles for Lexus ?

Hello guys. After i sold my Navigator, i started to research for used Lexus. My budget is 22k and i found a Rx 350 2009 model and 69k on it so far. The dealer has the car is asking 22k and I'm just wondering if that is too many miles for that price. Also I'm interested in Lexus Is 250 and i found one at 2008 model 59k mileage and 17000$. I really want to suv since i like bigger cars. So if you please help me about my decision i would be so glad. Thank you all.

Welcome to Club Lexus Sechkin. More info is needed. Is it a FWD or AWD? Does the vehicle have the premium plus package? Does it have the navigation system? Is this RX a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) sold by a Lexus dealership?

Sechkin, 70K is not a ton of miles on the RX models. Most people get 250 out of them very easy with minor maintenance and regular oil changes. These engines are well made. As for price, a little online research will give you a round about baseline to consider.

Hey Rainbird. The car is AWD. It does not have the premium plus package. It has navigation system and it is not certified pre-owned by a Lexus. It's one owner and has no service record on CARFAX which I'm kind of worried about putting some works on that car since has no service records. I bought my 2003 Lincoln when it was 86k and drove until 95k and I spent almost 3000$. Because of that all I want is having a reliable car.

Hey Htownblue. So do you think I can drive the Rx with 70k without having any major issue for like a few years ?

I think the dealer is a little high on this vehicle. I would offer 20k and settle for no more that 21k. You should register at the Lexus Owner's website. The complete Lexus service history of this vehicle will be there as well as any warranty work or recalls. You will need the VIN to complete the registration.

Last July we bought an 08 AWD from the Lexus dealer with Premium Plus and Nav/Camera for $22K plus tax/fees with 75K miles. Not a CPO but one local owner car with all maint records, 4 new Michelins and a new battery. These RX350 will go 250K easily with proper maint.

Hey Rainbird. I drove the Rx today and it was so smooth and more powerful than my uncle rx 400h. I really liked the car. I told them i can give 20k and the sales person asked his manager and They dropped the price to 20900$. I asked for a time to think. I never had Lexus and im just worried to give 20k for a car has 69k on it. What you guys think ? You think i can drive with no issue for a few years ?

if it's well maintained, 70k is not a problem

you can try to lowball the price a bit and see if they take it....

sometimes getting the car by end of the month helps.....good luck!

There is no difference is $20.9K vs $20K to me. However, the show stopper now is having no maint. record.
If I were you, I will take the car to a trusted mechanic and have it checked out, may cost you a couple hundreds. Part of cost of doing business.

Did you have it inspected for problems? Just because it is at the dealer does not mean it it trouble-free. However, if it checks out then there is no reason why this would not last you for a long time. Sure, there may be some problems down the road, but you run that risk with any used vehicle purchase when it has no warranty to it.

Interesting. The opposite seems true when we take our 400h in for service and get a 350 as a loaner.

My wife's 08 with 18" definitely rides smoother and floatier than my coworker 2010 model with 19".

This is probably not a good comparison as you are talking about two different generation of RX with not only different tire sizes but also different suspension setups, especially at the rear of the RX.

You think dealer would be fine with the taking the car to my mechanic ? It is not a Lexus dealer. It's actually official Cadillac dealer and salesman told me they had the car with trade-in (Cadillac SRX)
