Just make sure you get the proper bolts with the caps from Sewell and make sure that it is properly tightened. Seriously water in the footwell sucks. My last RX I had to take out the lower half of the interior and remove the carpet from the car to dry.

There's a foam gasket affixed to each hole on the brackets as they're shown below. It's the gasket that prohibits any liquid breach as it's equipped as such from the factory.

The kit is complete, no need to worry about the leak. Go for it!! The nekkid roof is so sexy!

Agreed it does look nice, but for this time around I might leave my car with the roof racks. One thing I would seriously suggest, even with putting in the bolts and making it water tight get the drainage tubes looked at as removing the rails might dislodge something small and actually block a drainage tube.

Just found some of my old pictures of my old car that showed what needed to be done to get the carpet out. Now it would take me 30 minutes to get done, but first time round at least 1-1.5 hours

draco, I hope you at least found some money or other hidden treasure under the seats, LOL! That's scary looking. I don't blame you for keeping the roof racks. Take off the crossbars and call it a day. I'd like to see a close up of those crossbars. Looking at the third picture in your first post, for a quick second I thought you bought an RX with the panoramic moonroof.

Wow Draco! You really went all out (literally) to make sure that carpet was dried. Or did you end up putting new carpet in which it was all apart?

On the old car, I took the carpet out whole and then placed it in the sun for a few hours to dry it out. Unfortunately for me, I actually had to do this 2 times and it still wasn't as dry as I wanted as the padding/foam underneath the carpet was absolutely soaked. Hence I took a heater to it but that tended to "dry" the carpet and make the carpet loose it's softness. Real shame!!

To get a replacement carpet was far too much and so the carpet went back in the car.
