Default Fuel injector problem

My father has an 07 rx and it seems that his fuel injector is just going to crap. Really awful knocking coming from the left side which is where it sits I believe. Anybody have problems with this? I have a gs and don't know much about the 2gr-fe or problems there of. Any input will be great! Thanks

Knocking could be caused by many things. Usually a misfire. Injectors do go bad, but in my experience with Lexus, they do not go bad often. See if the car has a code of some kind. You may have a simple valve clicking which is fairly common. As long as it is not seriously loud, and sounds like a small tapping sound, you are usually ok.

What makes you think it is a injector? The knocking? Check the coil. Switch the coil to a different cylinder.

Agreed, HtownBlue. With those symptoms the vehicle must be throwing some kind of error message. Any parts shop like AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts will be happy to connect a scanner to the vehicle at no charge.
