After I replaced the 4 tires on my rx350 6 smooths ago, my tire pressure light has stayed on most of the time. I have checked the tire pressure of all of my 5 tires, including the spare, and each is >30. I have also tried to reset the sensor by turning my key to on and press the reset button way below the steering wheel as the owners manual's direction, but nothing changes.

When I turn the key to on and press the reset button, the tire pressure light fleshes and won't ever stop. When i do finally release the reset button, the tire pressure light stays on. What am I doing wrong?

Welcome to Club Lexus. Who did you have change the tires? The TPMS sensor on the RX is in the valve stem. Did anyone change or mess with the valve stem?

I went to Goodyear for the new tires on my 08 rx350. Do you think something went wrong while they were replacing my tires?

Each original tire had one TPMS, Tire Pressure Sensor which is registered into the car computer. The computer tries to broadcast the signal using the unique number and if the TPMS was installed it would responsd to that query. So here are several possibilities.

- No TPMS was not installed on the new tiew.
- The original TPMS was installed on the new tire, but at least one of those failed or broken.
- New TPMS was installed on the new tire, but at least one of those are not registered to the on-board computer.

You probably should come back to Goodyear and ask about the TPMS.

If this is the case, should my tire pressure light be in only most of the time? Since it ocassionally is off.

The way most places install tires is the remove the valve seam to let the air out faster and sometimes they place a brand new seam to stop the air I think in this case is what happen you and this is what messed up your sensor best bet is to take it in the lexus dealership and have them check it out because if you take it back to good-year they are not going to know how to fix the problem which is going to make you more up set . You have to remember that most of these so call techs don't have a clue about mechanical or electrical problems with car.

I can't describe this symptom. But I had same experience with my snow tire. I didn't even put the TPMS in those and just let the light on. Occasionly the light will go off and back on later. I defenitely believe that this is caused by the TPMS.

I don't know what is the liability of Goodyear in this kind of the situation. But after 6 month, they would deny.

The dealer will charge for the diagnose which would be expensive. Further adding new TPMS at the deal also cost a lot.

If it were me, I would just let it be. TPMS is really not a necessity if you know basic car maintainmence processes. Just pay attention to the tire every morning before you get into the car and monitor the pressure once per week or two.

Had a similar problem. After I put on new tires, a few weeks later my TPMS light would go on.....and occasionly go off. It was actually due to my spare being on the edge of the pressure differential between the new tires. If you look in your owners manual, there is a procedure for 'resetting' the TPM sensors. Also check the tire pressure in your spare.

Are you kidding me? Dealership? or Stealership?

Sensors outthere selling for $70+ 14 installation fee.

The Dealer charge $100 for diagnostic,and $260.00 to install just each sensor.

My tire light had been on for a year. Nobody could tell me why. I broke down and paid for diagnostic check at the dealership. $$$ later I found out...there is a toggle switch under passanger dash that says main on it. This has to be set to MAIN to get the light off. It's designed to use a second set of snow tires. It's hard to find but just switch to main and the light will go off. Hope this helps!!!!

Hi, does anyone know why this link article says to only use ALUMINUM caps, and not plastic?
My tire light is on, I bought the RX350 this way at the dealer last week and noticed I have plastic valve stem caps. Tried filling to pressure and a reset, but light still on. Could it be the plastic caps? They are sliver in color, don't look stock at all, but I doubt this could be tripping the sensor? Wonder why the article states aluminum caps preferred. Please advise, thanks.
