Quotes way too high. The control arm quote is completely ridiculous I would not pay more than $500 per side. Even then that is a lot of money to spend if just a pressed in bushing is wearing out. The bushings themselves can be pushed out and replaced and if you disconnect the shock from the steering knuckle can be done on vehicle. The bushings are around $30 for the rubber variety and $70 for the urethane kind. I am not suggesting that you do the work if you are not comfortable just to illustrate that there are far less cost and labor intensive methods for solving the high ticket item on your list.

Yeah I'm in complete agreement with everyone here...$5k is too damn highlander! Try stopping at a Les Schwab for a quote. There should be one in Concord. They do quality work...at least here. They are not really inexpensive either, but I bet they are at least half of your "revised" quote. Funny how the dealer magically came down $2K so quickly and with no fuss...cuz they are making a fortune even at $5K.
