We are more than likely talking about two different Goodyear tires here. The original OEM Goodyear tires was the RSA. Garbage pure and simple. The tire being referred to here is the Goodyear Assurance ComforTred Touring which is a much different and better tire.

We are talking about completely different tires.

The 17" OEM Goodyear is not a great tire, but the 18" Goodyear ComforTred is a really quiet tire and was good in all-seasons.

We just replaced it with the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Ecopia 422 ... will see how this one works.

Edit: Just saw RX330inFL's post and that is correct ... different tire.

BTW, that Goodyear tire is probably past its expiration date and should be replaced when you get around to replacing the other four. More than likely it is a decade old now.

How many folks here have replaced the spare on their early 2nd Generation RX?

Any thoughts on Yokohama tires, I don't think I have seen any comments about them on this thread? I just test drove an RX330 with them and was impressed with handling, smooth operation and little noise.

Just remember everyone, make sure to look at that 3 digit treadwear number. The higher the number the longer the tires will last.

Mileage wise, yes. However, nothing stops the aging process of these tires. Why I was reminding folks about replacing the spare. Just because a tire is rated for 60K miles does not mean it will last that long. Most recommendations state that after 5 or 6 years tires should be inspected and considered for replacement and that no tire more than 10 years old should be used. Those who purchased 2004 RX may now have spare tires a decade old.
