It is coming from the roof/ headliner area somewhere behind the moonroof. It is sort of a rattling noise that is now constant when driving. The quick was to just turn on the radio a bit louder, but I know it is still there. Ive look at the roof rack and it seems tight. Ive also ensured that the privacy cover is the trunk is in the locked position.

Any advice as to where it could be coming from? Could it be the moonroof motor??

Track of the moon roof. That's what is likely vibrating.

If the inside moon roof cover is all the way back into the roof and the moon roof is not all the way open it'll vibrate making noise

Thanks! The noise occurs when the moon roof is fully closed, so could be caused by a loose motor mount. Any sense of how to get at it?? Do I need to remove the headliner?? Appreciate the assistance.

Motor mounts make noises when shifting into gears. You are likely hearing a rattle caused by your mon roof track. Open the roof half way and see if that effects the noise.

my is250 moonroof was rattling. Here is my redneck repair. Placed a piece of a rag on top of the track between the moonroof and track. The rubber expander hides it and it doesn't rattle anymore.

I just bought a 2008 RX350 which I just noticed some sort of a rattle thats coming from the roof.
At first I thought it was the roof rack cross bars so I removed them but the rattle is still there. It starts around 50 mpg and up.

The rattle feels to be coming from the roof rear passenger side. By the way, all of this with the moon roof closed!!!

I will like to know how to get rid of this because it is annoying me!

And I have whistle coming from the roof/windshield? when driving about 120 km/hr Moonroof closed.
Didn't find anything unusual on the roof or moonroof
Also driving me crazy. Any advise?

just a thought as I had a similar noise I thought was coming from the roof. Please look underneath the car directly below the driver's seat. There is a plastic cover there in which the double-side tape fell off and the plastic cover was rattling. I trimmed the plastic cover and the noise is gone.

Don't see any defect on it, also, no leaks...

Trimmed it myself, but sound was coming from underneath, not from the roof... Still, worse to check anyway.
