Today the OEM battery failed in my 2007 RX. Lexus must have put quality batteries in their vehicles back then. That battery entered service in March 2006 (7 years, 3 months to failure). Since I am an Auto Club member I called AAA Roadside Assistance and had them replace it. They installed an Interstate battery. Total cost for service call, battery and installation $107.

We are able to fit a more powerful (cranking Amps)battery in our 330's?

Perhaps not all that necessary. The battery size for our RX330 is a 24F.

For the price paid, Rainbird probably got the 600 CCA Mega-Tron Interstate battery. For a few dollars more you can get the Mega-Tron Plus 800 CCA battery. However, please note that the standard Mega-Tron battery (green top) is the one recommended for hot climates.

The Duralast Gold 24F from AutoZone is rated at 750 CCA.

Do you really need much more than these?

Fitted a Group 3 Kirkland battery from Costco. Equal to or better than OEM. Just had to install some washers, it is about 3/8" taller than OEM, no biggie.

Living in FL the heat zaps batteries. I proactively replace my cars' batteries every 3 years. At the Toyota dealer it's less than $100 installed and better than being stranded somewhere.

You make a good point, I don't think I will push it that far out again. Fortunately, AAA will usually show up in less than 30 minutes. They also checked the alternator for proper charge and had me back on the road in about one hour. As a member I already pay for roadside assistance, so the cost was the battery itself.
