Hey Everyone - I just picked up a 2004 RX-330 a couple of weeks back. It has about 82K miles, but it was a 1-owner, always serviced at the local dealership, and is in great shape so I felt pretty safe grabbing it.

I came over from having a couple of BMW's, I had a 328i for a year and got rid of it (at a small profit) because the transmission gearing was terrible. I was in a 335i for a couple of years and those were a fun 2-years of driving, wow. However, I am a pretty frugal guy and the whole "pay to play" was not making me too happy on the BMW. $750 for brakes on one axle, $90 oil changes, etc, it all cost more. Besides, the BMW was getting closer to the 100K mark and I had the car tuned so it was likely turbos and other costly repairs were on the horizon. To top it off, we have a 13-month old and trying to drive a car and keep it in perfect shape (on top of the space issues) was becoming too much of a hassle. I needed something with a bit more space, cheaper maintenance, higher reliability and something I would keep nice, but not worry about parking in the middle of the lot to prevent door dings

Anyways, more than you wanted to know, but here I am in an RX-330.

The old car...

...one note. From some quick research it looks like the trim around the rear quarter glass windows seems to fall off easily. When I bought this one, both sides were missing trim. From my searches, I will probably have to buy the whole window, take the trim and toss the window. Is this correct?

**Edit - Looks like each side is about $116 for molding only. http://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.co...roduct=5804575

Also, the cover over the bolt on the back windshield wiper is missing and I will need to replace that.
This one is much cheaper: http://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.co...ssembly=772437

Welcome to Club Lexus, runningman.

You can talk with the folks at Sewell Lexus of Dallas, a sponsor here at CL, about the parts you need and to make sure you get the right ones for your vehicle. Checking with your local Lexus dealership does not hurt, however, beyond parts many here use Toyota for regular service needs which is a great deal cheaper. You just cannot get parts like these from them.

Correct about the window trim. Use the search features for the forum and you will find information on how to secure the new pieces in the proper manner.

The window trim piece you noted is for an SC, not an RX.

Welcome. I'm also fairly new. Bought my '06 330 last week. I didn't plan on doing any mods but after doing some searching and discovering that you can add navigation, i'm dead set on adding that in the next few weeks.

I may not be doing any mods on the Lexus as it is the family car. Fortunately I do have navigation and the previous owner purchased a newer disk as the maps are updated in my neighborhood (not the case in my BMW).

Thanks, I appreciate the info. Not sure if it is worth $300, might have to think on that

I may have some luck in a junkyard around here as it seems everyone drives one of these.

Congrats on the RX.
I'm looking for a 1 owner 330 with records just like you have there.
Been a bit more difficult where I live.

Out of curiosity, how much did you pay? You can PM me if you don't want to post online.

A friend bought a 92K mile RX330, 2006 for $17K here in Marietta, GA.

Clean, NAV, Rear CAM, etc. Timing belt done at 82K. Good body condition, nice interior, not ML sound system though.

GOOD buy. Now he has a better RX330 than I do, chuck chuck! I inspected it and gave a thumbs up, he bought it the next day. Good for him. I just went shopping @ Sewell for his car, I like shopping, for me or for anybody else. Got him the Cargo all weather mat, cargo net, 1st aid kit, oil and air filters, and cabin filter as well, all for $14 shipping.

I am brand new to Lexus and already loving mine. I just bought a 2004 RX 330 that has 106-xxx miles. It practically looks brand new thanks to the previous owner who works in a Toyota dealership!
I spent the day reading the owners manual and now I'm going to practice and observe what I learned. So many bells and whistles.
