Default Need to clean spots behind plastic stereo display window

There are some spots, possibly from a liquid spilled or cleaning solution that is behind the plastic display window of my 2008 RX 350. Anyone have any idea short of ripping the stereo out on how I could wipe it off?

It would appear that maybe a detailer sprayed something there maybe in the cracks of the display and it got behind the plastic?

Wow.. I have never seen that before. It does look as though a detailer sprayed the stereo directly and it seeped through the seals.

After a little Google-ing, I discovered that someone had a similar issue with their MDX. They had to remove the radio and carefully disassemble it. After removing some screws they were able to remove the face plate and clean behind it.

Another user had the same thing and ended up taking it to the dealer and they were able to clean it.

If you feel confident, you might consider taking your radio out and trying that approach. I would probably end up taking it to my local Lexus Dealer. You also might wait to see if anyone else responds to your post.

If you do end up taking the radio out, please post a DIY thread with pics for future users. GOOD LUCK!

That's the one. Do you think you are going to try the DIY?
