Default Packing Groceries

Hey,Folks:

Just got a 2008 RX350 and so far I love it. Was wondering how you carry groceries in the back without spilling? I have a couple bunji straps, but they don't do the trick. My wife drives an Avalon and it has a removable net that works for small items. Ideas?

Welcome to Club Lexus, Bluespook.

They have as an accessory the cargo net for the RX. Here is a picture and sample pricing from one of our advertisers and supporters:

I went cheap and put two cardboard boxes in the trunk. Each holds about 4 plastic grocery bags. Works great.

I usually just use the floor of the back seat area for the bags, especially the fragile items or milk, and the bigger items or stuff I do not want to get crushed goes on the back seat itself. Never really have all that many things and the hatch goes empty with the exception of trips to Costco when it comes to shopping.

I use the auxiliary box in the luggage compartment for groceries. Press the button(s), floor panel(s) flip up and help hold bags and groceries in place.

I use the cargo net and paper bags, or the rear seat floor boards.

Thanks everyone for your input. Did not know about the net. All ideas are good and I appreciate your ideas.

The bins at the rear are designed for groceries, with little hooks to hold plastic bags.
