Default Buying a 2009 rx350, should I do it???

I'm looking to purchase a 2009 rx350 for my mother-in-law

I know in general, Lexus are highly reliable cars. I still drive my 2004 IS300 without any problems.

Things I'm looking for are reliability and any known issues with that year. If it were you, would you purchase a used rx350? From a search here I've seen some talk about premature water pump failures and vibrational noise as some complaints about the car.

Any advise would be much appreciated!

I don't know if my experience is typical, but I have a 09RX350 purchased new four years ago. Except for the replacement of an oil hose (TSB), the car has had no problems during its 30K miles.
I thus decided to keep it (though I did purchase an extended warranty from Jerry at Midwest Toyota. His price and service were excellent.) If you are concerned about reliability, you might look into an extended warranty. I do know that the dealership in Miami was offering a warranty from "Fidelity", which was accepted by Lexus, similar to the Lexus Platinum Extended Warranty, for cars that were just out of warranty (which did not apply to me). If your car is out of warranty, that might be a solution if you have concerns. Good luck!

The URL for the Hunter location finder is below. Only applies (from where I am) to US/Canada/Germany - might help though, since you can see the model number of the machine...

You are absolutely right. I had found the site and then edited the wrong thread. My bad..... Sorry to all!
However, my comments about my 09RX350 remain.

Best vehicle on the road. What would be your distant second choice? Jamie

Bought mine (2009 RX350 with 34,000 miles) off a lease end....had water pump & serpintine belt replaced on warranty...replaced front and back brakes...all for $ 21,000.
Best car-deal experience I have had in the past 32 years !
Hope yours goes as well.

So, I have a 2002 IS300 and I just purchased a 2009 RX350 this January. I love this vehicle. Drives like a car with the utility of an SUV. I couldn't ask for two better vehicles. Great combo.

My wife loves her's. Just make sure the oil cooler rubber hose assembly, and the VVTi rubber hose assembly are both replaced.
