Has anyone else gotten one recently? Will post more info when I find the letter.

UPDATE

Thanks mandyfig just logged in to the site and it seems Lou might be sick.

This was what was posted.

2004 RX330
Safety Recall BLG - Certain 2004 and 2005 Model Year ES 330 and RX 330 and Certain 2006 Model Year RX 400h Vehicles - 1MZ-FE/3MZ-FE V6 Engine Crankshaft Pulley - Remedy Available
This is an important Safety Recall. Please contact your authorized Lexus dealer to make an appointment to have the engine crankshaft pulley inspected and, if necessary, replaced at NO CHARGE.

What is the Condition? In Certain 2004 and 2005 MY ES330, RX330 and certain 2006 MY RX400h vehicles equipped with a 1MZ-FE or 3MZ-FE V6 engine, the amount of adhesive agent applied between the outer ring and the rubber torsional damper (inner ring) in the crankshaft pulley may be inadequate. If the adhesive is insufficient, there is a possibility that the outer ring may become misaligned and it may not properly rotate with the inner ring, causing noise and/or illumination of the discharge warning light. In some cases, the belt for the power steering pump may become detached from the pulley. The driver may notice a sudden increase in steering effort. A sudden increase in steering effort could increase the risk of a crash.

Is there a way to check online for recalls for a specific vin? Might be easier then finding this letter she had.

Are you signed up on the Lexus Owners' Website? If not, it is so easy. Go to Lexus.com and click on Owners. Follow directions. Once registered all pending Recalls will show up for your car. They do this with your VIN.

Good luck.

PS: It will also list all service done thru Lexus dealers.

There you go. Good luck. Take the car in and get a car wash and a full tank of gas. Worth the trip.

Is that policy? Or most dealerships do that. I'll head to the nicer one if not and hope they do.

I've only gotten a free car wash at the dealerships I've attended, never free gas.

Never received free gas for any of my recall events, there have been plenty, and the most recent recall for the brake booster I did not even get a loaner vehicle as the repair was less than 2 hours. They did wash and vacuum the vehicle though.

Yup, ask for free top off of gas. Hence I go in with empty tank all the time if it is warranty.

And I assume a recall falls under a warranty claim.

Please note that they will first inspect your vehicle to see if the affected parts are in the right serial number range. Just because your VIN was in range does not mean your RX will need any corrective measures.

not all dealers will top up your fuel tank. it used to be there policy back in the early 90's when lexus was trying to establish themselves.

now it is up to the dealer. (i even call customer support to verify)

if in doubt, or you live in a city with multiple lexus dealers, call and ask. or just show up with the fuel light on.
