Default Ignition Coil questions

Hi fellow Lexus Lovers! I had a check engine and vsc light come and go intermittantly, had the code scanned at the local car parts store, and they told me it was Ignition Coil E. Is that the same as 5 (I have searched this site and googled and have not found any info on this...)

Would this be an immediate repair type of situation, or can I drive until the part arrives without worry. It does not seem to be driving much different (rough), may have less mpg performance...

Thanks for any input!

You can drive just fine until the part gets there. Slight misfire for a little while since that cool isn't fully functional.

Please note that if you plan on taking on that particular ignition coil you may be in for more than you bargained for if you are not used to performing such work. While the front ignition coils are easy to work on, those on the rear bank can be very problematic. One needs only to perform a search here in the forums for the RX350 and that error code to see previous threads such as the following:

Another way to see if it's the ignition coil or a spark plug is to switch the ignition coil to another cylinder; see if the codes change with ignition coil or the spark plug.
I did this about a year ago, at the end of the day I needed to replace the ignition coil from cylinder #5.
