GS450H Wheels on an RX? Anyone tried it?
I've been tossing around the idea of getting some GS450h wheels for my wife's RX400h. I like the idea of a rim that is one inch thicker than the RX rims. The RX wheels look very skinny to me. The wheel size looks comparable, 18 x 8 for the GS vs. 18 x 7 for the RX. though the offsets are different: 45mm for the GS and 35mm for the RX. If anyone has done this please post up some pics. Very curious to the look. I like how the X5 looks so much more aggressive with it's wide rims and tires. The RX looks very wimpy by comparison.
Probably why it's considered a "chick" ride.

Crickets, eh? I'm surprised no one on this forum has an opinion on this or knows of someone who has tried it.
Lets try another approach. What is the widest wheel and tire package that will fit on the RX? I like some side wall so I would like to stay in the 18in to 19in family. 8.5 in width? 9? 10?

My dealer notified me that my 2020 factory order for a 450h will be in the next week or so. I hope it has michelins. At my local dealer, I have seen Bridgestones on the 350 and Michelins on the 450h.
When i get my vehicle , I will post what tires it came with.

Do NOT accept your new RX with Bridgestones. I did that, with horrendous results! By 10,000 miles, my smooth RX ride was gone, and it rode like a Toyota Corolla. By 15,000 miles, the Bridgestones were almost bald, and the sidewalls were coming apart. I'm fully aware that OEM tires don't live up to their retail counterparts, but OEM Bridgestones are the worst. Demand that the dealer swap them out for Michelins at no extra charge.

Jeez. What bridgestones are they putting on the 2020 RX's?
If they the same trash Turanzas they put on IS250/350 models then yes they really are terrible. The ones on my IS350 RWD only lasted 15K miles.
BTW I just noticed this thread is 7 years old.

The questionable Bridgestones on the RX are called Ecopia - truly a garbage tire with ZERO mileage warranty straight off the dealer’s lot.

I also have an IS250C that had Bridgestone Turanzas on it when I bought it used. Two of them looked brand new. But I ended up getting a lot of flat tires with them and had to get replacements because of sidewall leaks. When the replacements did the same thing, I finally wised up and didn't get any more Bridgestones. Back then the Turanza model had just been discontinued, but unfortunately for me, there were still a lot in the distribution network for me to waste my money on.

I had a set of Turanzas on an Acura & also on a VW GTI that I got really good service out of. They lasted a long time, but when they had extended mileage on them, they became quite noisy. The Ecopias lost their wet traction early, were VERY noisy & just didn’t last like the Turanzas did. Turanzas were not the best tire, for sure, but they were WAY better than the Ecopias.

I just bought a 2020RX350AWD with the 20 inch wheels. I'll burn off the OEM Bridgestone tires then get new ones. Just looking ahead, I see that both Tire Rack and Discount Tire are recommending the Goodyear Assurance Weatherready tire as their top pick for this vehicle. Any thoughts?
