V8 Engine
We were having a discussion about car engines the other day, with regards to someone having to replace their engine in a Nissan Patrol. Anyway it got me thinking, would it be possible to fit an LX V8 engine into an RX330? This is simply an exercise in thought rather than anything particularly serious.
Thought in might be something fun to discuss. I wonder if anyone has put a V8 in an RX shell.......

Draco,
the LX engine is too long to fit it in longitudinally or transversely for RX's engine bay. LX is primarily rear wheel drive/4WD with the V8 sitting longitudinally, whereas RX as you know is FWD/AWD with transverse engine configuration. RX doesn't have a big enough floor tunnel for a massive LX (or even GX/Prado if you've considered that) transmission.
To make a long story short... no, it won't work. Unless you are a master fabricator working in a monster garage, then you can fit a space shuttle engine in there if you wanted to . Otherwise, it's not a "bolt on installation". sorry to break the news for ya.

Would probably be cheaper to drop in the 400h drive train which performs like a 4l V8. Though probably easier to just buy a used 400h.
