calm down people.. what deminfake said is not that right or wrong... just his personal opinion..

same line as vitamins, fuel additives, premium gas (on regular gas-required cars), premium synthetic oil, etc..

personally, i put in bottle of chevron techron cleaner 500 miles before every other oil change, i do this NOT knowing if my engine is any cleaner, but it helps me sleep at night..

My point, done with slight tongue in cheek, is that you can't get into a "Did too, Did not" type of discussion without backing it up with data. Saying that someone else's arguement is baseless and without merit is pretty meaningless unless you can back it. Can either side support their arguement?

Thanks people. No arguement its just "MY OPINION". I just type it not right: - "i will never ever put in my gas tank anything except gas "
and it's your right to listen or not... is it right?
and his car is pretty fresh, not a high millage and sounds like he dont have any issue with fuel system.
SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH!!!

I use a bottle of Techron once a year. Probably overkill as someone mentioned correctly that if you buy gas from a reputable dealer, you probably don't need it. I do it because I like to think it's really clean inside the engine.

Will your tank additive clean this? A $170 fuel system cleaning should include a spray that goes into the throttlebody to clean it and the inside of the intake where the injectors dont spray. Now how much gas you'll save with a clean fuel/air system over an untouched one is hard to say.

Better yet,

Find a place in your area that has 100 Octane gas or racing gas unleaded of course. Usually it's a Sunoco gas station.

You don't need a lot, maybe 5 gallons. It's going to be expensive ( $10 / gal in Jersey) but if you think about it, a bottle of Chevron is a few ounces, 100 Octane gas you're buying by the gallon. Anyway, while near empty, put a few gallons in, let it run and you should feel the difference.

Lexus recommends 91 or higher for 2nd gens Rx350.

While I have not used 100+ octane fuel in my RX, I do keep 110 octane leaded and 103 octane unleaded, both ethanol free, here at the property for use in various situations and vehicles. I load the 55 gal. drums up in the truck and take with me to fill. And yes, it is Sunoco brand as mentioned above. Though, VP Racing Fuels are also available in a number of locations and worth a look.

If you are looking for any of these in your area I would suggest searching the Internet or looking for a local race track or regional airport and ask some of the folks there what is available in the that might work for you. The pure-gas.org web site lists the ethanol free fuels available around the US and Canada.

In all my years dealing with fuel injected systems I have never had a problem with clogged fuel injectors or other similar such situations which would require a $170 system cleaning. The only thing I have done additional over the years is to use a bottle (20oz) of Chevron Techron about every 7500 miles and stuck with certain name brand fuels I my vehicles have been happy with.

another way to have your fuel system running clean is to have your fuel filter replaced. you usually wont find that in the lexus maintenance schedule but my mechanic does it for me. he recommends replacing the filter every 15 or 30k.

The other day someone tried to convince me of a fuel treatment that's sold through an MLM. I think it was Xtreme Fuel Treatment. I said no thanks. I'll stick to premium fuel with it's own detergents.

Although Toyota is not on this list but I still be cautious.
