I think that your assumption (hoping) that it will take one full week of driving for PS fluid to completely circulate is wishful thinking. You have been given some worthwhile suggestions and, while I have no problems ( yet) with my serpentine belt, I have had to replace the serpentine belt and tensioner on other vehicles for similar sounding noises. This is a cheap fix and, while I don't normally advocate the replace and pray method of auto repair, is a very logical assumption.

When I replaced my belt the old one was looks ok excluding planty of steel dots between ribs.
and i think to mix old and fresh PS fluid will takes couple full turns (left and right)???


and you can get a spray bottle of belt conditioner from any auto parts store for under 4$, I tried on my car, noise dissapered, but next day when i started my car it has become even worse

and BTW i got DAYCO belt (56$)

Update: I ended up going to Lexus to diagnose the issue. Of course you guys and denimfake especially were right. I am glad I took it in though, they found some other problem with the steering column which was a $1600 fix (after market extended warranty covered it).

Any other solutions?

I've had this for a while... Really annoying.

Steps take [this order too]; TB change in January 2012 along with PS belt, Dayco since the original Mitsuboshi was getting tired with 140k KM's.
*no immediate change

August 2013, FULL P/S system flush [the normal way, not with a power bleeder] but cracking the valve open and turning left/right until empty - then fill whilst turning, until full.
*no change

I'm looking at the PS pumps on Rockauto now. Noticed the design differences between the Jap/US built models.

Jap uses a nut to secure the pulley and US has pressed in pulley. Of course the US is cheaper by half and Japanese twice as much.

Anyone ever encounter this? They should be the same, no?

Fixed it. Get a new P/S pump, make sure the accessory belt is tight. Since you're in there it doesn't hurt to drop some T-IV trans fluid and do a nice complete flush

Japanese = separate pulley and more $$
Canadian = pressfit, all in one, cheaper

No more squeal, upon changing it my mech tightened my accessory belt, as it was a hair loose somewhere on the alternator side apparently. This could be blamed on the P/S pump having slight drag on the overall system and the serpentine loosened itself with time. Mind you this sucker's been squealing for over 1.5 years now. But getting progressively worse in the last few months.

Went to the back of the shop whilst still cold [when it squeals the most] tried doing some donuts, and no hesitation on the steering side, nor noises. Couldn't be happier right now.

After reading the previous posts. I've been experiencing a slight squealing noise when pulling my GS out of the garage. Squeals for 10-15 seconds then goes away. Sounds like it's coming form my back left wheel? Any suggestions on what might be the issue? Doesn't seem like it's a loose belt under the hood? Appreciate any input.
