Problems Using New 160GB iPod with 2008 RX350
I can't remember who the aftermarket company is that was installing the iPod interface for my RX350 when I bought it. Perhaps it's different from one region to another?? I bought my car in San Rafael, CA in late 2008. I'm sure with a little more digging I can find the company but I'm curious if anyone knows who it was. Or if Lexus is using their own in house interface now??
In any event, I have a new 160GB iPod which doesn't play nicely with this interface. I'm guessing I'm going to have to replace it. My music collection is a hierarchical structure with at least 3 levels. For example: Favorites > 5 Starts > 5 Stars Pop. My current interface doesn't really understand this at all and completely ignore podcasts altogether.
I'd love to hear from someone who has a current Lexus and how that's working for them. Or from users with older RX models that have upgraded their audio system.
Thanks in advance!!

Every Lexus dealership is now supposed to have a Lexus Vehicle Technology Specialist on staff. This is one of the things they were brought in to help customers in regards to their Lexus experience. I would take your RX by the dealership and ask for this individual or perhaps call in advance to setup an appointment.
FWIW, the software and technology behind the 160GB iPod Classic is quite old now. Has not been upgraded in years. Unlike the latest iPhone 5 or iPod Touch models just released using iOS 6, your iPod should work as designed without problem. Question is, was it designed to work in the manner you envision? I am unsure as to the correct answer. I do not use mine in that way. Make sure it has been updated to the latest version of the iPod Software using iTunes on your computer.
