Default New RX owner

Hi. I just bought a 2006 RX 330 with 48000 miles. It is white with tan leather interior. It has power sun roof, backup camera, navigation, DVD player and maybe some other options I have not discovered.

This Lexus is great. The only problem I'm having is learning the Navigation. Any advice to shorten my learning curve would be helpful.

Thanksb

Welcome to Club Lexus!

The manual has tons of information, and it'll be the quickest way to get acquainted with the features in your RX.

This might help with the navigation system: https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lex...-videos.do#TOP

Congrats on your purchase. You will love this car as I just picked my 05 RX330 in Crystal White this past Friday.

Welcome to Club Lexus. Register the vehicle while your at the lexus.com website. You will need the VIN number. All warranty, recalls and maintenance work done by Lexus will be there. If you don't have the Lexus and navigation manual set they can be picked up on eBay Motors cheap.

Thanks for that Navigation link. It was very helpful.

My problem is twice the Nav system has taken me off a major interstate to soon and routed me through a small town when I know staying on the interstate one more exit would have been a better option.

Thanks for the help.

I did read your intro. The RX330 is great. My first Lexus also.

With your RX being 6 years old, the maps are likely out of date. Instead of paying $200 for an updrade CD with maps, get a $139 portable Garmin with lifetime map updates and bluetooth - will never miss another exit!

You will probably want to check to see what version of the DVD disc for maps you have installed. They were a bit expensive from the dealer, could replace my Garmin with a whole new unit for that amount, so many individuals passed on upgrading these over the years.

When you input destinations into the Navigation System there is a selection to use all available freeways. If you don't select this option the system will try to exit you through every town and back road on the way. Remember the navigation system will always try to send you the shortest distance even if it's a road with 20 stoplights.
