After sitting in the garage for a number of weeks without being driven, when I went to start it, the battery was dead. I used a battery jump starter & the car cranked fine. I moved the car outside, parked and locked it without running the car long enough to recharge the battery. The next day when I went to start the car again, this time the car is locked, the alarm went off before I inserted the key in the door to unlock it. After unlocking the door with the key, I have tried starting the car following the directions from the owner's manual using jumper cables with a 2nd vehicle running attached to Lexus battery for 5 mins. When I insert the key to start, there is no sound from the starter. The battery is charged enough to use the automatic lock and the lights come on when door is opened. Does the alarm trigger a safety to keep the motor from starting? If so, is there a reset button somewhere? Please help. My car has been sitting outside in the weather now for 9 days.
