I have this code P0037 and it refers to the bank 1 oxygen sensor 2, heater, signal too low.
Some say to test the sensor first to know it is really dead. I have a multimeter, do not have a torch (could I use a gas stove^).
How would I test voltage and resistance^

They say to test for voltage with the engine running, but I cannot understand if I remove the connector and test or what. Also, please let me know if anyone knows about the leads where to test voltage and resistance.

One more thing. Could a bad cat converter lead to this code^

Update. Service manual does not refer to the use of a torch. Could I measure resistance with the sensor in the car^

You can Google search on how to test an O2 sensor. Here are other existing threads on the error code. As you can see, usually means you need to replace that sensor.

Most of the time the computer is right..I would just replace the O2 sensor and call it a day.....

here is a good youtube vid that i used to verify that my o2 sensor was bad rather than a wiring problem.

If you have an OBDII Scanner, it will show the read out for every sensor. You can translate this data and verify if voltage/current is within spec.
