Do not believe that is true of FL. No special warranties here for the hybrids that I am aware of to be honest. We get just the standard Lexus warranty.

Mudding/offroading in case of a zombie outbreak?
Just for the rarity of it, I guess. Then I wouldn't have to worry about wanting an STI because I'd have somethjg that's awd. Practically, can't really think of a real good reason to want an awd besides just cus.

RX330 is right, we never get anything special in Fl. We're always exempted from special warranties, better salaries, prize drawings, contest, double coupons, etc. Why do I live here again? Oh, Only thing we're omitted from in a good way is emissions and inspections.

The RX has never been really known as a great off-road vehicle and especially when compared to the GX, LX and other Toyota products like the 4Runner. Toyota even had a better setup in its Celica All-Trac Turbo, IMHO. I tend to think of it more of a tall wagon, for this is how it is classified. Gets me through the standing water after a storm. Moderate snow -- it is fine. Off trail rides -- would take a Subaru Outback over an AWD RX330. When I go hunting in PA, getting to the cabin is not a problem. To get further back into the woods I break out the Mule.

Years ago we had emissions testing here in FL. That was phased out in July, 2000.

we just bought 2006 400h with 80k miles and it's awesome. highway driving at 80mph with full AC on 100 degree day over 6 hour trip and averaged 23+. city driving in fall with no AC we get 30 mpg. we generally average 27. hybrid is the way to go. jeeps, stop giving false info if you haven;t dont your research.

honestly do you think lexus is gonna build a car they have to fix often? their hybrid has the best industry warranty i think.
From the Lexus website for a 2013 450h:

Hybrid Vehicle System
Hybrid System Warranty coverage is for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first, and covers the following components: Hybrid control module, Hybrid battery control module, Hybrid battery and inverter with converter.

This is the same standard warranty for the 400h hybrid components. So for a 400h, you are at best halfway through the hybrid warranty. My RX 350 will get 23 mpg at 80 mph with a/c. The hybrids are best used for city driving. If you do mostly highway miles, you will not see much benefit from the hybrid.

My comment was said "personally". I am not saying to not buy a hybrid. I am saying that real world experience needs to be studied before jumping in headfirst. The savings of buying a non-hybrid will purchase many gallons of gasoline without worry of future hybrid component replacement.
