I am wondering for people that have lowered the Rx's did you have to replace your shocks and struts too?

It seems like some people recommend while other don't.

Nope, if it ain't broke why fix it.

But if you are considering doing a complete swap, grab yourself the TTE Coilover set for the RX, it'll make your life alot easier than trying to replace springs.

Thanks for posting this question, as I have thought about just replacing the springs on my car to lower it by about an inch & a half.

Thats what i ended up doing - tte springs on original struts, still rides well.

I personally wouldnt do it as my wife drives our RX but some like this look:

It's about looks not functionality. Either way the RX is not going to do any off road driving anytime for anyone soon.

That RX is mine, it's on Air Suspension. It's for show. However it's great for when you want to get your gear out of roof storage or bikes or skis etc.

So no worry about too much wear and tear on the original struts?

Well there is around a 4 inch wheel gap, so lowering the car about 1.5 inches isn't really slamming it.

To answer your original question, it depends how much you lower it. For 1.5 inches, I would not forsee having to replace the shocks and struts. But I would have a alignment done after about 1000 miles.

If your struts were worn you'd know about it by now. You can always do the struts when you need to, it's not a huge job.

Because it ain't a landcruiser, and the factory ride height looks ridiculous especially next to more modern x3, q5s and landrovers.
