Where's the navigation DVD reader?
Believe it or not, I even searched the PDF version of the manual.
But I was unable to find anything related to the nav DVD, only audio/video.
I just want to try a newer one I got hold of to see the differences, but can't switch them unless I can find the reader, obviously....
Besides, is any sort of setup procedure required, when upgrading the maps?
Thanks in advance!

My 08 Nav DVD is in the luggage compartment. If you open the rear door, roll up the carpet, you will see a compartment towards the back seat. Open the cover of that compartment, on your right hand there is another small vertical cover which covers the front of the DVD Nav.
Believe me, when I brought the 08, the salesman of the deal, not Lexus dealer, couldn't find it either. He had to call his buddy in Lexus dealer to find out where it is.

Many thanks, that helped.
I found the reader and managed to replace the old disc (07/08) with the new one, but now I get a funny behaviour on the display:
The "Map info" seems to recognise the new DVD, because it shows the area, coverage and year (10/11), but when trying to navigate, it says that the maps can't be read.
Is anyone aware of whether some sort of initial setup is required, when upgrading?
I borrowed the new disc from a friend, because before spending my hard earned money I wanted to check if the upgrade is really worth it, but I can't keep it forever and would like to check it ASAP...
Any ideas?

You probably have a DVD made for a different system. There are many out there and each is customized to the car's screen size and features. Search here for info regarding the exact DVD needed. With the correct disc you should have no problems. My two cars use the same data disc, and I frequently swap the DVDs between them so that the newer one is in the car I will be using on a road trip, and I've never had a problem of any sort.
