Small dent and paint chip
All,
I got my first 09 RX 350 couple days before. Some jerk at my apartment (yes, its open parking) did not like the new looks of my car and damaged it with some key? or sharp object so hard - just above the rear window on the frame to create a small dent and paint chip - it now looks ugly for the person getting in.
Why on earth do these jerks live? After paying more than 25 grand, am now crying that i need to spend more for this paint and dent work.
Have a few questions - any recommendations on how to remove that small dent on the frame, and repaint it? Its smoky granite mica paint. Can i do it myself? want to save some money... How much might a body shop / lexus dealer quote for this to be done? I live in CT. Any help is so much appreciated.
First day I enjoyed the car so very much. Second day I saw this dent and it felt so bad. These jerks shouldn't live.

I can sympathize but find a good body shop and get a quote. Posting here won't help -- especially without photos. "Small dent" really doesn't provide enough information. Unless you have a lot of experience with body work and/or don't care what the results look like you won't want to try yourself.

A lot of dealers use a traveling paint chip repair guy for the lease returns. I have a neighbor who does this with all of the dealers on "auto row" who use his service to touch up the various paint chips. It is one of the reasons that lease returns and CPO cars look so good.

No joke. Hope karma catches up with these people. I've had many experiences of haters in my area with my old car and now I have my RX covered up in my driveway all the time.

Thanks for all your replies. Any suggestions including costs of installing something like a security camera with recording features? I don't want to spend a lot, but just to detect if something again happens.
