Default Driver side cupholder

As I find myself enjoying my RX more and more, I discovered a cupholder that ejects from the driver side of my dashboard. To my dismay, my cupholder has no support and you can see the the drink holder portion is cracked.

Anyone had this problem? Easy to repair? Part #?

I did a search but yielded nothing in the way of an answer.

I never used that one in mine. I always use the center console ones instead. the DS one looks good for a can of soda, but not much else.

I will probably never use it, i just dont like that its broken. I found one on an auction site for around 70 dollars. Just dont know how much the dash has to come apart to repair it myself.

Someone posted with the same issue and it was wildly expensive to get in there to replace it.

Default Drivers Drink holder

Ive replaced two of them on my car. Both under warranty.

The local car wash broke the vent control tab off both times. If you go down, left or right the tab goes flush. But if you go up. It stops. And with just a little pressure. The tab will come apart in two pieces.

The warranty bill to replace the whole assembly is 213.00 dollars.

Never had any problems with the drink holder part. Thats the one I always use. As the center one has a cup for coins. And my iPhone holder in it.

Well for that $ and effort I will just pretend that I never found it and stick to the center holders.

Broke mine off a while back by hitting it with my knee while getting out of the car. Broke both of the vertical pieces.

What I did was took a thin piece of metal (like a small paperclip) to bridge the pieces then epoxy the sides to the metal. Keep the metal thin and use small amount of black epoxy and you can't really tell any fix was done.

Works fine as alI that ever goes in it is a can of soda.

Fits a normal 16.9 oz. bottled water fairly well... I generally don't use mine either

I saw this on Ebay.

Probably not the right color.

It is black in color. The photo is a bit off, IMO.

Default Drink Holder

The question is.

How do you get the old one to release from the dash. So you can put in a new one?
