Rear hatch sticking in cold weather
I noticed this problem last year, but when the weather got warmer it went away. Now that the cold weather is back (well kind-of, the northeast has been on the warm side) the problem is back. When I open the rear hatch of our 2009 RX 350, it seems like the latch is a little reluctant to let go. There is a weird crunching sound before it releases. It doesn't prevent it from opening and it doesn't hinder the automatic opener, but I'm afraid there is an adjustment heading in the wrong direction. Unfortunately, we are beyond the bumper to bumper warranty, so I don't want to bring this in to the dealership before absolutely necessary.
Does anyone know of any adjustments in the latch mechanism that could be causing this? If so, how do I adjust them?
