Replaced Differential Fluids
I didn't see anything in the 2nd gen forums so I thought I would put up a post for others. 2004 90,000 miles.
Front: Six sided 15/16 inch shallow socket. Got mine from Sears. Needs to be shallow because the top plug area is really tight. Take top plug off first.
Rear: Torx T55 for a rachet again from Sears. Used PB Blaster and propane torch, after the heat the plugs came right off. Take top plug off first.
I used Valvoline Synthetic 80W90. I bought 3 quarts since there is some spillage while filling. The top plug in the front had a sticker on it recommending 85w90. Neighbor had a gear oil pump; I did see one at Advance Auto (didn't check price).
I didn't post pictures, there are good pictures in the Haynes Manual, which I got from the library. The dealer wanted $160 for this service, eek.

There is a huge amount of art work in the service manual ... to me well worth the price. I purchase them just as I take delivery of the vehicle. Tou need to know which one as there are more than one manual. Keep a look out as they come on fleabay etc.
