Unfortunately, it looks like Lexus114 will not be able to make it to the dealer.

Anyone else in that area ?

At this point you are probably best served by an inspection company specializing in such if you want to have the vehicle reviewed before purchase.

I'm in NY, but I have a friend that lives out in Philly, if you haven't found anyone else I can ask her and her husband if they would be interested in checking it out.

Thanks for the offer.

I think I am just going to go with carchex and see if they can be there in the next couple of
days.

Though this will be after I pay for the car, it will at least be before it ships out.

Default Vehicle arrives !!

About twenty days after my purchase, the vehicle was dropped off at my doorstep today.

Dirty, but no other damage as far as I can tell. No smells or dings. Went for a quick ride
and it ran well.

The PA weather and the salt/sand seem to have made their mark on the hood area
(mostly under the grill) with numerous very small chips. I was going to touch-up the
spots with the included touch-up paint, but noticed that some spots had rust showing thru.
Should I treat it with something before touching up ?

Thanks for all the suggestions and support, and let me know if there are any specific
items to check/look for on a RX350.

I would certainly wash the underside to remove any remaining salt. The rust on the chips can be cleaned with 600-1200 sandpaper and then touched up.

Thanks.

I went to a car wash today which includes undercarriage wash.

The spots are small and I think a sandpaper will actually make it worse.

How about this method

Compound is sort of paste sandpaper. I guess it's personal preference, I like SP because it unequivocally removes the rust from the spot. I take a pencil or a dowel and wrap it with SP to have a small work surface for small chips. You basically just rotate the pencil and grind it out. It keeps the surrounding area free from cutting the clear coat which can happen with compound.

If the chips are not readily visible compound would be quicker and then paint, and a coat of wax later after it dries. Whatever floats your boat.

Try to get some pics of the car for us!

Thanks for that info, I may go the pencil/SP route.

Will post pics soon.

I went to the car wash last night and noticed the dreaded condensation problem
on the headlight assembly !!

I am going to email Thompsun lexus and ask them what should be my next step.

Does anyone have the TSB # for this issue ?

Lexus doesn't consider it a problem if the condensation burns off in 15 minutes with the lights on but you may be able to cry loudly enough to get them replaced. Was it both of them?

Yeah both sides. More on the passenger side.

It has been over 48 hours since the wash and I can still see condensation.
I think they should fix it. Let us see what they say.

BTW, has the design problem been fixed now or do the new headlight assemblies
still fail ?

They still fail. Besides, Toyota will not even admit this is a major problem.
