Congratulations to all the new mods! And a special congratulations to Salim, it was a long time coming baby. As much time and effort you have given to these forums for so many years I'm truly surprised it took this long. Well earned my friend!

I have operated an active hobby forum for the last ten years. We're not as big as CL but I have 7 mods and we get 650K hits a month. As the Great Zod er GS Dave can tell you, running a forum is hard work. I come to CL to learn and most importantly, to relax.

I enjoy CL and the people, I like to mess with my car and share it with you but I don't need another job and moderating a forum is indeed work. I appreciate how well run CL is. This calm, blue oasis we enjoy is achieved through massive effort on the part of those behind the scenes.

I appreciate your kind words, even in jest but I will happily remain the gadfly of the 2 gen forum. Seriously, how many people besides me have ever shown their groceries as a part of a DIY post?!?
