Thanks for the link Chuck! I'll post pictures after I install the new LED DRL's. Should hopefully be delivered this Saturday.

Default LED Driving Lights

Replaced the yellow driving lights with LED's and I think they look awesome. Here is a picture.

I also replaced the driver and passenger door entry lights to LED projector logo lights. Only costed me $20 for the pair on Ebay and they look awesome! They look a lot better than I thought they would. They also give light for entry as well. I thought it was going to be just the projector logo but was pleasantly surprised.

By the way. Anyone know how to replace the yellow Lexus step bulb in my picture above? I want to replace them with a blue LED.

Both mods look great!

I also replaced the high beam/DRL with LED bulbs, but yours look a lot brighter.

I've also seen the Lexus logo projectors and wondered what the quality was like. After seeing your pictures, I'm tempted to pick some up!

I changed the sill plate lights from orange to blue. It is a total pain in the a**, as it isn't a matter of removing and replacing the bulb.

I researched the process on this site and others. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures during the process, but here's and overview:

The entire piece (plastic door sill and aluminum with light fixture) has to be removed and small harness unplugged. The aluminum piece is held in place via heavy adhesive tape. I ended up using a heat gun to soften the adhesive and carefully remove the aluminum piece.

After the aluminum piece is removed, it will expose the "Lexus" light fixture. You will see that the bulb is located beneath the clear plastic cover.

I used a rotary tool to cut enough of the clear plastic to remove the bulb, replaced orange with blue LED, tested to make sure it works with 9V battery wired to harness and sealed the hole.

I then reattached the aluminum piece with new 3m double sided tape (after removing old adhesive. The plastic sill plate also has some small tabs that help hold the aluminum piece in place.

I would say this took me about 1-1.5 hours per sill plate. I knew it was going to be very laborious, but it was worth it, as I'm no longer annoyed by the orange/amber lights!!

I replaced my door sill light with white LEDs in the same manner that Chuckbass described. However, In 2008 they changed the scuff plate lights to blue on the RX400h. You could order 2008 scuff plates. This in not the cheaper way but it is the easier way. They are $119 for each of the front sills and $81 for each of the rear.

I'd like to see where's the best place to put them and what it looks like before deciding whether or not to buy some.

I have a Black 2005 RX300.
This is a good idea. lol
Why haven't I thought of that

Hey Chuckbass....Where did you get that aluminum foot rest? I need something like that. My carpet is wearing out where I always rest my foot.

Hey Jake:
It is part of an aluminum pedal set that I got from either eBay or Amazon (can't remember) for $40-$50. The set includes the footrest, gas, brake and parking brake pedals.

I will have to look for something like that before I wear a hole through the carpet. Haha

Woahhhh.. The aluminum pedal set look awesome! I have those on the Porsche but never thought about it for the Lexus. I'll have to get those for sure. There is no way I am going to attempt replacing the ornage to blue bulb. That sounds like a real pain in the a** Great job doing them to your car!

My wife's IS250 F-Sport came with some nice aluminum pedals and I guess I got jealous

The orange bulbs bothered me so much that I disconnected the harnesses for a while until I built up the courage/insanity to disassemble them!

This is where I got the door projector lamps on Ebay. They were the cheapest and they are better than expected. Amazon wanted $40. These were only $20

Chuck, do your pedals have some rubber on them? I can't tell from the picture. I found some on Ebay and was wondering how fast those rubber pieces wear out.

Will these work for my 2007 RX400h? The description says 2008-2014 but they kinda look the same?

The set in your eBay link appear to be exactly like mine!

The rubber seems to be good quality and I haven't noticed any premature wear.

Thanks for the projector links. So tempting!!
